Safety Study
Overview
Hays County is conducting a safety study along Fitzhugh Road to identify potential mobility improvements and improve safety from RM 12 to the Hays County line. Possible improvements could include additional signage, pavement markings, and intersection improvements.
The intent of the study is to identify near term improvements that could be made within the existing County right-of-way. This study includes traffic counts, speed monitoring, signage and pavement analysis, and a review of crash data.
Coordination with local community members and stakeholders, Travis County, and the Texas Department of Transportation will play an important part of the safety analysis and feedback will be collected throughout the study. A public meeting will be held in early Fall of 2024.
Funding for this study comes from the 2016 Hays County Bond Program and future funding for improvements has not yet been identified.
